Client goals: determine the cause of traffic drop after August 2018 and correct the downward trend of organic traffic, restore the upward growth trend, take the TOP-3 in the niches of real estate, work, air tickets, hotels and tours to Turkey.

What we did:

  • SEO audit (analyzed 51964 URLs, 5589 duplicate pages, 5367 pages with error 404, 6821 pages with duplicates of the title and this was only part of the issues)
  • The project team promptly implemented all necessary changes to correct 90% of errors
  • Changed generation formula for titles
  • Implemented schema for structured data (Article)
  • It was found that the drop in traffic was caused by a change in editorial policy - the amount of copied (non-unique) content increased since August 2018
  • Editorial policy adjusted by 80/20 formula (copyright/copy-paste)
  • Collected semantic core (keywords research) for the promoted clusters (real estate, work, air tickets, hotels, tours)
  • Created optimized for the semantic core content for the landing pages (texts from 10'000 to 45'000 characters per page)
  • Landing pages have been SEO optimized (meta tags, markup, headers, unique images and alt attributes, table of contents technology and other tasks)
  • Setup mini-PBN (private blog network) - a network of supporting thematic satellite sites with backlinks to client's website
  • Copied a part of competitors backlinks
  • With the help of the outreach team, we obtained backlinks from sites ranking in the TOP-10 for the targeted keywords
  • The dynamics of the backlinks profile keeps on raising, the monthly increase in the number of referring domains, the project team constantly implements improvements to the site
